Christie's is celebrating four decades of auctions in Asia with two back to back Hong Kong watch sales, and the house has chosen a matched pair of Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillons from the Kronos: Titans of Time collection to lead them both. Together, the two sales carry a combined low estimate above forty two million dollars, the highest seasonal total the category has ever reached in the region.
The headline lots
The Iconic 40 Watches evening sale on November 25 is topped by a Sky Moon Tourbillon in eighteen karat white gold, built with a double dial and twelve complications that include a perpetual calendar, a tourbillon, and a sky chart display. Christie's has given it a high estimate of roughly 5.3 million dollars.
The following day, the Important Watches sale on November 26 features the second Sky Moon Tourbillon from the same collection, this one cased in eighteen karat pink gold and also carrying twelve complications, among them moon age and angular motion indicators. That watch is expected to sell for somewhere between one and two million dollars.
